Use of the site

The information and services available on the site are provided for the purpose of individuals looking for employment opportunities, career information, organisations seeking to recruit and systems that support direct and peer to peer discussions in relation to job related issues, deals and other topical issues. You may use, print and download information from the site for these purposes only and for not other personal or commercial purpose. You may not otherwise copy, display, transmit or distribute any material from the site.

All copyright, database rights and other intellectual property rights in the site and the material available on the site belong to BIGDOG Marketing Ltd or its third party suppliers. Use of the site does not give you any proprietary rights on such materials.

Registered Users

All registered users will be requested to provide BIGDOG the below information. BIGDOG is not available for any persons under the age of 14 or to anyone who has had their membership terminated. You should provide true, accurate and complete registration information and also maintain the accuracy of this information. If you are under the age of 18 please ensure you have parental consent to provide the personal information requested in the registration form.

By registering and entering your details you consent to BIGDOG and its clients sending you information about products and/or services that may be of interest to you. You also agree to the Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy that govern how your information will be processed.

As a registered user of BIGDOG you must keep confidential all your personal information inclusive of registration details, these are for the sole use of the person they were issued too. Any unauthorised use of your account must be immediately brought to BIGDOG's attention

BIGDOG reserves the right to deactivate registered user accounts that have remained inactive for more than 180 consecutive days.

Employment Agencies and Employment Business Regulation 2003

One of the services offered by BIGDOG is to operate as a venue for users to search for opportunities and for organisations to post opportunities. BIGDOG has no control over and will not be liable for the following:

• the quality, safety or legality of the opportunities posted on the website;
• the quality, safety or legality of the responses made by registered users;
• the truth or accuracy of the opportunities posted;
• the ability of organisations to offer the opportunities to registered users;
• the ability of registered users to fill these opportunities.

The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Business Regulations 2003 (the "Regulations") seeks to ensure that work-seekers are only proposed by employment agencies for roles for which they are properly qualified and that recruiters are only offered work-seekers who have the appropriate levels of experience, training, qualifications and authorisation for the position to be filled. As BIGDOG only operates as a venue we recommend the following steps are taken:

• if you are responding to an advertisement you undertake the steps set out in the Regulations to ensure your suitability for the opportunity.
• if you are recruiting for the opportunity you seek out confirmation that the respondent is suitable for the role.

Where professional qualifications are required or where work-seekers are to work with vulnerable persons or children, you should obtain copies of the relevant qualifications or authorisation, obtain at least two references from people who are not relatives of the work-seeker and undertake a criminal records bureau check of the work-seeker.

Acceptable Site Uses

BIGDOG specifically prohibits the use of the site for any unlawful business. As a user of BIGDOG you are responsible for all communications posted under your profile and consequences from the posting. You agree you abide by all the applicable laws including national and international laws and regulation and that you will not:

• post material where you don't have the permission of the copywriter owner;
• post material that reveals trade secrets unless you own them or have the permission of the owner;
• post material that infringes on any other intellectual property rights of others or on the privacy or publicity rights of other;
• post material that is, or may in our judgment be, defamatory, offensive, vulgar, obscene, harassing, threatening, abusive or hateful, racist, sexist, discriminatory, of a menacing character or cause annoyance, inconvenience, embarrassment or anxiety to any person;
• post material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancel-bots or other computer programming routines or engines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or information;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service offered by BIGDOG, other registered accounts, computer systems or networks connected to BIGDOG;
• collect e-mail addresses or any other personal information of BIGDOG registered users;
• create a false or misleading registered user account;
• post incomplete, false or misleading information;
• post web links and references to deemed direct competitors of BIGDOG;
• use the matching service for anything other than the advertised opportunity
• access another users account for any reason;
• disclose your login details to anyone.

User Submissions & Proprietary Rights

As a registered user of BIGDOG you are responsible for all communications posted under your profile and consequences from the posting. Submitting content on BIGDOG on public or non-public forums you grant to BIGDOG a non-exclusive right and licence (royalty free) to use, reproduce, edit, publicly perform and display and distribute such material solely in connection to the services offered by BIGDOG. The non-exclusive right and licence will remain until such time as the material is removed off BIGDOG but will remain enforce whilst this information is displayed on other registered users profiles.

This licence doesn't grant BIGDOG the right to sell your materials. In posting on BIGDOG you agree that:

• you own the material or the right to distribute;
• in posting the material you don't violate any privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights and any other rights of the person;
• you agree to pay all royalties, fees and any other monies owed incurred by posting materials on BIGDOG.

BIGDOG will do its best endeavours to moderate the site however has no obligation to moderate communication's or advice posted on the site and does not guarantee the accuracy, truthfulness or reliability of posts expressed by registered users. If notified by a user of any communications that don't abide to BIGDOG's general Terms & Conditions; BIGDOG may investigate and decide whether to remove or edit the posting and/or terminate the user's access to the site. BIGDOG does not have to advise when removing or editing postings and or terminating accounts.

Copyright and or Trademark Infringement

If you believe at any point your copyrighted work or trademark has been uploaded to BIGDOG that constitutes copyright or trademark infringement. Please mail a screenshot and a description of the infringement and address it to:

Termination of Registered Users

Registered users at any point have the right to remove their profile on BIGDOG however in doing so will limit the services they can access via the site. To remove/cancel your profile you must do so by email. BIGDOG agrees to deactivate your profile within two weeks.

BIGDOG has the right without notice to terminate your profile and block access to the site for any reason.

As a condition of your registration you agree to respect the intellectual property right or copyright of other sites as BIGDOG will.

Embedded Links

The services offered via BIGDOG will contain links to third part web sites. These links are provided solely for your convenience; BIGDOG does not endorse or control the content or availability of these sites. If you access third party web links via BIGDOG, you do so at your own risk.

BIGDOG does not allow or endorse third party developers to create applications to use or access the site. If you download any third party applications, you do so at your own risk.

Any organisation wishing to link too or endorse BIGDOG must do so by emailing enquiries@bigdog.co.uk.

Level of Service

BIGDOG continuously seeks to improve its resilience and improve its service. In the event of downtown or service interruption, BIGDOG will endeavour to minimise the time its unable to deliver a service but is unable to guarantee a time to resolve the issue.

Privacy & Personal Information

We take your privacy and security extremely seriously and collection and use of personal information submitted to BIGDOG is governed by our Privacy Policy.

BIGDOG makes all reasonable effort to ensure that security measures are in place to prevent loss, illegal or incorrect use of the data, or improper and unauthorised access to it.

If you live outside if the UK and register with BIGDOG you consent to the transfer of your personal information to the UK and abide by the laws and regulations that govern.

The Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA 1998) gives you the right to access personal information (information about yourself) held by organisations. If you wish to exercise this subject access right, you should make a request in writing, providing enough information to enable us to satisfy ourselves as to your identity and to find the information, with a cheque or postal order to the value of £10 (payable to BIGDOG Marketing Ltd) to:

Liability

As a user you assume all the associated risks with dealing with others you come into contact through using the web site and its services. BIGDOG does not verify any of its registered users and in the event of any dispute or claim made against you or to another user you release BIGDOG from any claims, demands and damages of every kind arising out of or in any way connected to such dispute or claims referred above.

BIGDOG will not warrant that the site will operate error-free or that the site and its servers are free of computer viruses or other harmful applications. BIGDOG is not liable for any costs incurred from having to replace equipment by using the site.

Limitation of Liability

Indemnity
