The fact that you are reading this means that you
probably know a bit about apprenticeships already which is
great!
If you have an idea what you want to do then by far the easiest
way to find that apprenticeship is to search the BIGDOG database of
over 5,000 current apprenticeship vacancies. You
can do that by using the apprenticeship search
tool on the right or you can go to our Apprenticeships page
which has a more detailed search tool and great articles and posts
about careers.
People that are asking themselves "how do I get an
apprenticeship?" are often worried about the application method.
Usually, it's really simple.
Some employers only ask that you send them your names and
contact details at first which makes applying really easy.
Other employers ask you to send a CV or complete an application
form. Check out our helpful articles on doing a CV here.
An apprenticeship is a way of combining working for an employer,
earning a wage and at the same time learning new skills. You get a
foot in the job market and the new skills you have learned and the
nationally recognised qualifications that you have gained make you
more employable in the future.
Some people are lucky enough to be able to get a job or
apprenticeship in a sector they want to work in. Others may look to
do do an apprenticeship to improve their employability. For more
information why not check out The BIGDOG guide to apprenticeships or our
article entitled Why do an apprenticeship?
